This checklist and step-by-step guide to help you plan your wedding day is designed for planning a wedding in 1 year but can be spread out or condensed to fit your deadline!

There are a lot of aspects that go into wedding planning that most people forget. Don’t be one of those people! It is important to consider everything: As you can see there is a lot that goes into making sure you have the perfect wedding, which yes can be overwhelming for anyone, but we want to make your life easier!

When you get engaged

Pick the date of the wedding! This is the question everyone is going to ask you right when they put the ring on your finger! Will it be on a random summer day or maybe on your anniversary? The date is completely up to you and will become the most important date of both of your lives.

Making a budget is great and helpful but sticking with your said budget is even more important!

Gather names and addresses of guests you would like to invite and also start thinking about who is going to be in your bridal party! Sending out the save the date letter in the mail is extremely important to accommodate everyone\’s busy schedule!

Research locations ASAP! You are no the only person who is planning a wedding everyone is rushing and making sure they have their dream venue. Picking a location should be the first thing you do before picking the date if you have a location in mind. Depending on how popular the location is they might be already booked for the next 12 months!

Creating a wedding website is great for friends and family who want to stay in the loop of your wedding planning process or even just to see whos who in the wedding party! Add all the information that you want to have public for your guests to see such as the date and location!

12 months until your wedding

Hire a photographer ASAP! Just like the venue you don’t want to procrastinate with this task. Keep in mind many photographers can be booked up to a year in advance if they are well known in the industry.

11 months until your wedding

Set up an appointment with a florist to decide on bouquets and centerpieces. The flowers you might have been dreaming about might be not in season!

Book your caterer and taste the food! Having delicious food at your wedding is extremely important!

10 months until your wedding

Now that you have a venue, you know how many people you can invite! This is the time to finalize your guest list and then set up all of your gift registries.

Decide who you want to be your officiant for the big day! Do you want a friend or family member? Then it is important to make sure they are ordained before they perform at the ceremony!

If you \’re opting out of a DJ start making your playlist NOW! If not, start shopping for musical entertainment as soon as possible. As they also get booked very quickly.

9 months until your wedding

Order your gown and get alterations done. If you haven\’t done this important step, we suggest you do it as soon as possible!

8 months until your wedding

Buy the necessary hair, shoe, and other accessories for your wedding day!

Plan your honeymoon! After all this planning you deserve a vacation!

7 and 6 months until your wedding

Look over all of your wedding invitations. This is the time to edit, proof, and print them.

Talk to your hairstylist and makeup artist. Ask if you can have a few test runs before the big day. It is important to test out how long products work for your skin and hair texture.

5 months until your wedding

It is important to start sending out Save the Date Cards and remind people especially those traveling to book accommodations for after the wedding! With so many things going on in everyone lives it is really easy to forget important dates. Save the Date Cards can be as simple or as elaborate as you want!

2 months until your wedding

Purchase your weddings bands and make any alterations!

Talk to all your vendors and make sure everything is running smoothly! A simple checkup will make you feel at ease and happy to know that everything is good on your vendors\’ end.

1 month until your wedding

Time to celebrate with your favorite girls… your bridesmaids!

Most likely your Maid of Honor or someone who is close to you is planning the Bachelorette party, but if they aren\’t this is the time to make sure that all bases are covered.
